|
|
Hi there,
Just a quick one - I'd appreciate if someone could answer for me.
I have site which, as per Plan Part II has multiple themes/silos all related to the major site theme.
My question is do you create the sitemaps to be specific to each silo or is it one sitemap for the total site?
i.e. Main Site = cars.com - cars sitemap (content?)
Silo 1: Slow Cars - Slow Car Sitemap
Silo 2: Fast cars - Fast Car sitemap
silo 3: etc.
If the answer is to create specific sitemaps for each silo, then what is the content of the sitemap on the main site index page?
Hope someone can help.
Thanks

One general sitemap is good. When submitting your sitemap to Google (for instance) they like a straight down XML sitemap.
See this tutorial on sitemaps it may help a bit:
Creating Sitemaps
If your site becomes too large you may want to make a separate "visitor friendly" sitemap that is broken down into categories and pages. |
