Im curious though Charlie, what is your reasoning behind not monetizing your site, now its as high as its going to get search engine wise?

The thing is, the site probably isn't as high as it's going to get in the SEs, at least not for all potential terms!
If your site is called: Explore the Maldives, those are the main keywords, and your domain name, eventually you'd expect it to get to #1 for those keywords (I have a site called The Complete Life Guide, which is also its domain name, and it's #1 for Complete Life Guide (with 188 million competing sites)) Now, it SOUNDS great, but you're only high for those exact keywords which may not be searched that often. You need to start ranking higher across the board, which will happen in time.
The thing is, only a few searches will be done with the phrase: Explore the Maldives, other people will type in: the Maldives, visit the maldives, holiday the maldives or whatever, and none of these search terms bring up the Explore the Maldives site at #1.
However, in time as the site is built according to the plan, more pages are added, more keywords and phrases targeted, pages on the site will start ranking for these terms. In other words, the only way is up!
So, it's not a bad strategy to wait for monetization, as other pages start ranking and other keywords start getting good results.
JMHO Guys!
As an aside - I just checked one of my new sites (built according to The Plan, started the first week or so of June) it's called Ways To Work From Home and now ranks #3 in Google competing against 582 million websites! That's not too shabby Again though, I know it's got a way to go yet!
Cheers

You are absolutely correct in your reasoning, Fiona. Though it is #1 for the keyword pharase "explore the maldives" it still has a ways to go for the other phrases. And yes, I will wait for monetization. I am not going to put Adsense on this site, just use some banners fro such places as Real Vacations. I am in no hurry with this site to make money. It is, as I have always said, an experiment in the validity of The Plan...
Peace,
Charlie~

For me to do otherwise, Charles, would decrease any credibility you might wish to convey. If we follow your system, and it works, then the point is taken. It is a win-win situation for us all...
Peace,
Charlie~

I got my domain name on the 4th of June, so probably would have launched the site over the next couple of days...
For the website I've used PLR articles that I've modified (I usually add a new paragraph at the start, and edit the rest of the article - some PLR articles need more work than others!) The site currently has 13 pages (index page, sitemap page and 11 article pages)
Also, it hasn't had a LOT of promotion yet. I've submitted it to a few directories (used the demo versions of both submission software packages and submitted to a few more which I kept track of in an Excel spreadsheet).
Today I picked up SubmitEaze (the full version) and am in the process of adding more directories to it (one reason I like this particular software ) So I'll be adding it to a lot more directories over the next couple of weeks.
I've also announced some of the pages in the Article Underground blog announcement system (one thing that makes Article Underground membership so darn good ) I've also bookmarked it at a few social bookmarking sites (but not in a spammish, mass account way).
According to MSN the site's got 92 backlinks (most from the Article Underground blogs, a few from directories, and also some from bookmarking sites)
This time I checked it it's got me #3 out of 604 million! Google certainly is funny
Now I've just gotta get into the top 10 for work from home! (with nearly 4 BILLION competing websites!) That could take some doing
Cheers
