I asked in another thread the other day, but I don't think I made myself quite clear!

Basically I was asking HOW we can build this sort of site using Wordpress, when Wordpress constructs its own links....

I also want to know how to create a static first page with a Wordpress blog.

Yes, this is possible though I have not personally done it Jeff Walters of Rapid Niche Websites is proficient at this. I will try to line up a call or a interview with Jeff to get more details on this subject.

All I know is that Semiologic Pro costs about $100 more! I've looked at both, and am leaning towards RNW.

There are a few threads asking about using WordPress to build silo-structure sites, mentioning Semiologic Pro and RNW -- but there seems to have been no update since early July...

1) Russell, if you could give us a little detail of how you use Semiologic pro for building silo-structure sites, that would be great.

2) Charles, did you ever get any further with Jeff Walters re using RNW for building silo-structure sites?

3) all -- has anybody else been using WordPress, and if so what system have you used (if any) and how has it worked out?

I imagine that using categories for silos would work out OK as long as the permalinking is set up correctly?
