First off, thanks to Charles for saving me about $130 by offering the Tag and Ping Primer as an alternative to Sean's much-hyped book.

And a quick question - is it okay to bookmark many different pages from the same website if each is given a slightly different tag?

My site features wildlife pictures, so I'd like to bookmark all the pages featuring different animals, so the tags would be something like:
photos, elephants, photography
lions, pictures, photos
zebra, photography, photos
giraffe, photos, pictures
etc etc.

I can't see a problem with this as each page is covering a different subject, which would be of help to someone searching tags - but also don't want to do anything regarded as spammy.

This is perfectly acceptabe and adviseable. It will increase your exposure.

Consider each "page" of your site a separate website all together as far as tagging is concerned.

Each page is different in content and it is fine to bookmark and tage each page to increase your exposure and traffic.
