Hello,

In link building, I wonder if anyone could help me out by describing their experiences with "Text Link Ads". I've just started a little campaign with them, targetting my specific focus of one of my websites.

I tried manually finding the websites I wanted to have my links run on and found that their custom proposal option was much easier and the suggestions made actually suited my niche down to a T.

Anyone out there have any experience in using this service? I've already started my campaign, (assuming it was great - it sure looks like a great idea) but wondered what others experiences with this are.

Welcome to the board bigmack...

I would ask to see some sample websites where your link would potentially be placed.

If there is a bunch of non relevant links leading out from their sites then you could be panalized for bing part of a link farm.

If Textlinkads has a footprint in their script then you could be penalized since the search engines hate links that are paid for in an effort to improve rankings and pagerank.

You need to measure all of the factors before spending your money on their program.

I have not personally had any experience with them but I would definitely be looking to have these questions answered before testing.

Good points Charles,

I was wondering the same thing about the footprint. The only thing I can say is that from viewing the source code in the pages it shows like any regular link with anchor text - as far as I can tell, and they claim to be accepted by all search engines. They've got a lot of support from the big seo companies/personalities out there as well.

As for relevancy, the websites that were chosen for me are actually incredibly relevant to my niche. They're high authority sites, ranging from PR5-7.
