HI Charles,
I've been trying everywhere to find the correct definition of what an 'authority site' really is.
I've had a look around TZ but can't find a great deal.
Can you help

|

What is the best way to link on a big, growing site?
If I understand correctly, I link from the bottom (last article) of one silo to the top of the next silo.
When I add a new page to the bottom of the first silo, I have to change linking structure of the last article. I change the link of that previous last article to the new last article. The new last article now links top the top of the next silo.
Is this correct? Does this create any problems with SEO or spiders?
Thanks. |

|
|
I am not the definitive Expert here and I have read the revenge of the Mini Net. I have also seen how Jim Edwards is currently using mini- sites along side SEO strategy. The mini-site strategy is very seductive and it does work to a good degree, but will it rank for the highest competition words. My answer is have you seen a mini site raked high for terms like mortgage and so forth? There may be examples of mini sites ranking high for competitive terms but it is in no way related to the heavy LSI content factor.
We cannot underestimate how vauable the overall amount of LSI optimized content will boost an authority site over any mini site. A mini site might be a good strategy no question, but that strategy is gonna get blown out of the water pretty soon. It will still work just as old SEO still works, but I will bet dollars for doughnuts an Authority site will blow any mini site away.
Think about this ok? You can build a multitude of minis in different niches and do well in all of them by building the same off page factors that have been working for years now. Or second choice is to build an LSI content site in one medium or large niche. You can see form the examples Charles has shown as well as Russell Wright over at Theme Zoom that an LSI model can conquer a huge niche in fairly rapid fashion. How fast depends on how much work is put in and the competition. As has been shown you start with all the Long Tail words related to your parent Keyword in the niche and slowly dominate those smaller words. After you rank at the top for a bunch of small long tails your parent word status will float up like cream to the top.
This will be accomplish by setting a daily course of chores such as getting links into your site etc. as detailed in "The Master Plan"...or you can do what I am starting now which is much easier to keep someone on track daily. Sign up to University 2020 for that ABC 123 step by step do this now that assistance. If you are self motivated and can work off "The Master Plan" go for it. But I seriously doubt you are.....sorry but 95% of people won't do anything unless they can get hand held training.
I am not being mean here...I am one of those that needs a hand too. Almost everyone does this is my point. If that were not true why did Charles and Russell decide to open U2020 and recommend that most people start with it? Because this SEO stuff is not rocket science for the end user but it sure as heck isn't push button either. It requires a daily list of things to be done. University 2020 will keep the majority of us on that track and habituated to doing our daily SEO. I know I am going to start now... and in a year I won't be still telling myself I can do this myself. I have already tried telling myself that before. |
