I need to know how many members have windows or mac based operating systems on their computer in order to choose security features for The Master Plan.

Please take a moment to answer the poll.

Thank you,

Charles

Charles,

My MacBook Pro has a retail price of $1999.

I picked it up for free at Perry Marshall's Adwords seminar this past April.
He gave them away to the first 200 registrants to his seminar. Needless to say, I was in that group!

I have the 15" display, but Apple came out with a 17" display recently.
See this link for more information on specs and pricing:

JoeCool... I actually meant to ask you this question, not Rick... my bad Embarassed

I have never owned or worked on a Mac but like the tales I hear of stability as opposed to a windows environment... I wonder how the hybrid performs?

That is awesome that you got one for free!

Charles,

Have you seen the new Mac commercials with the Cool Mac Guy and the Geeky PC Guy? In the first commercial they ran, the Geeky PC Guy was talking about MS DOS or some crap and all of a sudden he stops in mid sentence and freezes in position. Then the Cool Mac Guy slaps him on the back to reboot him and he starts spewing the same garbage over until the Cool Mac Guy tells him "you already said that... you froze up the first time and I had to reboot you." Of course the Geeky PC Guy is oblivious and somewhat confused as to what just happened.

ROFLMAO! That commercial is destined to be another classic.

I personally have been using Macs since 1986 and still have my first MacPlus in a box somewhere. I've used Windows based PCs since the mid 90's (can anyone say Windows 3.1) and I kicked and screamed about it up until now... yaaaay!

The only analogy I can give anyone about the difference is this. Think of the PC as a 1958 Chevrolet 1 Ton Tow Truck, smoking badly, running rough, with a five speed manual transmission and a bad clutch to boot (no pun intended). Now hop into the Mac and think of it as a brand new 2007 Chevrolet Corvette with a humming smoothly engine and a multi speed automatic transmission... now you should have a pretty good idea of what I'm talking about (I'm American, I like American cars, so sue me).

Apple has a free software program called BootCamp www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp that lets you install Windows XP on your MacBook Pro and other various Macs with the Intel chip. Kind of like putting the Tow Truck engine into the Corvette if that's what you want to do. Apple is planning to build the software into their next OS release.

There is third party virtual program from Parallels www.parallels.com that lets you run both Mac and Windows side by side without restarting the Mac to make the switch.

"Parallels Desktop for Mac is the first solution that gives Apple users the ability to run Windows alongside Mac OS X in a secure, isolated virtual machine. Parallels Desktop works with any Intel-powered Apple, including iMac, Mac Mini, MacBook and MacBook Pro."

I haven't tried Parallels software yet as I'm waiting to see if Apple includes something similar (and free) in their next OS release.

Charles, stop by your local mega mall and see if they have an Apple store you can visit. Just being in the store itself is a Cool experience... way beyond roaming the aisles of Best Buy or Circuit City and having the guy that was selling DVDs only yesterday demo the latest HPs for you.

Remember, the guys at Apple are the ones that brought the iPod to the world... and we all know how Cool those are.

So my final thought is this. With more and more software moving to web based applications, it really won't matter which system you use. I'll stick with the Mac for the long haul and wait out the remaining old school programmers writing all their Windows based .exe programs.

Best Regards,

Hi Joe Cool,

Thru the years we have looked at Apple and witnessed their hate of Bill Gates, it's getting old but they just won't let it go. Lack of software and proprietary issues are the reasons with did not go that route. We don't drive a Volvo or wear Birkenstocks either but that's our loss. :O)

That aside we always had an issue with the fact that Apple does not content itself with selling software, they feel they need to sell hardware. If the software ran on other hardware, it would be ok. The problem is that it is all proprietary hardware where they modify evey connector a little bit so you have to buy thru them at 3-10x what it would cost for a regular PC: They just gouge you with a smile. Hopefully the new platform is beyond that we have not looked yet.

The other problrm is that unless you're a graphic designer, photographer or musician, there isn't much software of interest. Finally, they are getting hit hard of late by hackers, all the bragging got attention from them.

But that's just our opinion. Glad you are enjoying it, the price was certainly right.

Anne and Bernie
