|
|
Hi Guys,
From the "Have I got this silo structure right?" topic, I would like to ask if this concept is true then...
When theming is mentioned, does one mean it HAS to be related? Can a site, say one owns "about.com", and create silos like "mp3 downloads", next silo about "breast cancer" and so on....
Those two silos mentioned won't link to each other, but instead "mp3 downloads" silo will link with "history of music" silo, and '"breast cancer"silo will link with "lung cancer" silo....
So my question would be the possibility of create all of that with just one domain, instead of having several domains.
Regards,
David. |

Hi David,
If you look closely at about.com, you'll see that they set up unrelated silos as subdomains. Does that help?

Yup!
However does about.com rank high because of it's silo structure? it's millions of pages? or because of it's theme? or because of its age?
But I think it should be because of its silo structure and it's pages... hah, I've answered my own question.
Thank you very much!
David. |
