That's great! My first website is now #1 in Google, but took quite a while for the index page to show up there (in fact, I just checked it then and found out that it's now #1, last time I looked it wasn't there...). It didn't take at all long to get to #1 in MSN for the same search terms (the title of the website and name of the domain).
Of course, not knowing any better, I didn't build it according to the plan and I monetized it straight away!
Cheers

Hi, Fiona~
The site was launched June 3rd. The home page is indexed in Google. I am doing this as an experiment to see if The Plan is a good one to follow. According to what I am seeing, it is. Monetization will not be for probably another month. I want traffic to get to a level I am happy with. I want to see at least 100 unique visitors a day before I monetize. It is approaching that now...
Peace,
Charlie~

Fantastic results guys...well done. It is really very heartening for me to hear of people succeeding with a strategy that I have chosen to follow.
Im curious though Charlie, what is your reasoning behind not monetizing your site, now its as high as its going to get search engine wise?

Hi, Glenn~
I am waiting to insure that more pages are indexed, that I might get some idea of what PR is going to look like when Google does its next dance, and to get traffic to an acceptable level. I want at least 100 visitors per day before I monetize.
Remember, this site is an experiment for me, to test whether or not doing it this way is viable. I have many sites that are set up for monetization from the git-go, and have had some success with, but have never climbed the ranks like this one has. So, the experiment continues...
HTH.
Peace,
Charlie~

Keep your visitors and "quality" in mind and you will do well. Google's algortihm is more sophisticated than a stealth bomber.
They seem to be able to recognize good quality vs. quick dollar techniques. This is, after all, what all the search engines are striving for. Create visitor friendly sites and rankings will follow.
Nice job Charlie... you topped over 2 million competing pages in less than a month
I am experiencing similar results with SEO 20/20 (a plan based site). Though the keywords I am going after have 10s of millions of competing sites, I am seeing great top 50 results in just over 1.5 months.
As you add more pages to your sites you will please the search engines "freshness" meter & rankings will climb as a result.
Keep up the good work |

The thing is, the site probably isn't as high as it's going to get in the SEs, at least not for all potential terms!
If your site is called: Explore the Maldives, those are the main keywords, and your domain name, eventually you'd expect it to get to #1 for those keywords (I have a site called The Complete Life Guide, which is also its domain name, and it's #1 for Complete Life Guide (with 188 million competing sites)) Now, it SOUNDS great, but you're only high for those exact keywords which may not be searched that often. You need to start ranking higher across the board, which will happen in time.
The thing is, only a few searches will be done with the phrase: Explore the Maldives, other people will type in: the Maldives, visit the maldives, holiday the maldives or whatever, and none of these search terms bring up the Explore the Maldives site at #1.
However, in time as the site is built according to the plan, more pages are added, more keywords and phrases targeted, pages on the site will start ranking for these terms. In other words, the only way is up!
So, it's not a bad strategy to wait for monetization, as other pages start ranking and other keywords start getting good results.
JMHO Guys!
As an aside - I just checked one of my new sites (built according to The Plan, started the first week or so of June) it's called Ways To Work From Home and now ranks #3 in Google competing against 582 million websites! That's not too shabby Again though, I know it's got a way to go yet!
Cheers

Fiona, you go girl.
Congrats on the #3 spot, though your competing websites count is off a bit...
I show you at #3 against 680,000,000 in my search! Wow!
Drinks are on me, you've done well my friend.

P.S. Fiona, are you using PLR articles or did you write (or outsource) the content yourself?

Charles,
Looks like she did it in less than 30 days... she started it the first week of June or so.
Fiona, Charlie,
Shhhhhhh...
...with these kind of results, we won't be able to afford the Mastermind Group Membership if Charles catches wind of this.
Charles, you should be as proud as a new papa about now!
Best Regards,
JoeCool |
