Content and Article Writing for AdSense and Affiliate
Clicks
In order to draw clicks, according to The Plan, you will
need to craft your articles and content in a way that will
entice a visitor to click on one of your AdSense ads. Of
course you can't tell a visitor to click on an AdSense ad as
this would be a violation of the
AdSense TOS). The question then becomes, "how do I
get visitors to click on my ads?"
The answer is to write
content that lures the visitor into reading your article but
doesn't quite give them everything they need to know so that
they are compelled to click one of your links.
Let's run
through an example using "Golf Shoes" as your target
keyword...
Step into the mind of your future visitor. They
are looking for golf shoes, they do a search on Google and
find your listing for information about golf shoes. This
visitor probably already knows what golf shoes are so an
article about what golf shoes are is no good because they
will probably back out and leave.
Think to yourself, "what
is a visitor typing in the word (golf shoes) looking for?"
They are probably looking to buy golf shoes but they don't
know what kind to get. The simplest deduction will be true
99% of the time. So assuming that this visitor is looking to
buy golf shoes you need to think to yourself, "what valuable
service could I provide to someone looking for golf shoes to
buy?"
Immediately I think of doing a Golf Shoe Review
niche website. With this in mind, I can begin searching the
internet for content and article ideas centered around
reviewing golf shoes.
In my previous report on
website optimization, I showed you how to construct
your website for maximum search engine friendliness. Now I
am going to use that same
example website to show you how to construct content
for your human visitors for maximum click effectiveness.
Our focus from this example website is golf. Within the site
is a page whose focus is on golf shoes. (see
that page here)
The content on that page is okay
because it caters to the mindset of what a person seeking
golf shoes is after. They want to buy golf shoes but don't
know how to go about picking the right shoe. Our goal with
this web page is to out them at ease about making a choice
and then clicking one of our ads.
Make the Website
Visitor Friendly
To make this golf shoe page visitor friendly we will need
to spice it up a bit by adding a navigation menu, AdSense
Ads (if you are listed in the
directories), and a graphic with the
ALT text set to your main keyword. In this example
the ALT Text is set to "Golf Shoes".
Notice how
the site now has the elements above...
I have
added a user navigation menu. Now that the site is listed in
the directories, I have added my AdSense ads. Notice how the
short article caters to the mindset of the visitor. This is
what will draw the visitor to click on my AdSense ads.
Notice how the AdSense ads are made to blend into the site.
The best font to use for your text is Veranda 2pt. This
seems to be the closest fit to the text and size of the
AdSense ads.
Take a look at the AdSense ads at the very
bottom of the
updated page. Look at the section titled "Popular
Golf Shoes Reviewed". See how well I blend the AdSense ads
in with my own internal links.
The sample site is very
simple in design and I don't expect you to follow my design
to the letter. Feel free to experiment with your own design
templates. You can also add links to your
affiliate programs and search engine friendly RSS
feeds to your pages as well.
Design your site, articles and ads with the human visitor
in mind and you will draw good clicks to your ads and make
good affiliate commissions.
How to Write Killer Content
Step 1: Know
your visitor
Step 2:
Get ideas for your content
The best way to get ideas for
writing content articles is to get inspired. My favorite way
to gain inspiration is to browse the internet looking for
breaking news, articles and forums that are devoted to the
niche I'm working on.
There are many great ways to find
inspiration for your niche. I have listed some of my
favorites here:
Article Directories - Type in your
target keyword to find all kinds of articles to inspire you
and get the idea juices flowing.
Search Engines - Type in your target keyword and
browse websites to get ideas for your content.
News Sites - Type in your target keyword and
browse news sites for the latest news on your target
keyword.
Forums - Search the internet to find forums
related to your niche. This is a great way to get ideas for
articles and content.
Step 3:
Write your article
Write your article in a way that leaves the visitor
hanging unless they click a link. That link can be to
another page in your website or a click to an affiliate
program that you just pre-sold or a click to one of your
AdSense ads.
You can't just throw in bad content for the purpose of
getting the right AdSense ads to display or the hope of
getting a visitor to visit an affiliate product. You have to
write good content that actually feeds the immediate need of
the visitor. By doing this your AdSense CTR (click through
rate) will skyrocket.
It is necessary to write your articles in this fashion to
get your website earning that important $10 - $15 a day (according
to the plan)
