Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) Continued (day 4)
The poor quality of some web sites and their content has
made it necessary for Google to spend some of their billions
of dollars to come up with a way to get rid of the junk and
undesirable information that has become so rampant on the
Internet.
Google is not the only major search engine to jump on
this. In an effort to protect their market share, other
search engines are quickly following Google's lead.
Google has now taken the bull by the horns and the system
they have now is quickly taking care of the problem. That
system is of course the LSI algorithm.
Google and the other major search engines have recently
begun placing a heavier emphasis on LSI because of the fact
that so many junk websites have made their appearance
especially in the past year.
One small result of this change is commonly known as the
Google Slap.
What exactly do the search engines consider to be junk?
-
Websites that are thin
affiliate sites or sites whose sole purpose is an
"obvious" attempt at redirecting people to an affiliate
product or service.
-
A site whose sole purpose
is to generate clicks on AdSense ads or ads from other
networks.
-
Websites whose content is
written in a way that uses a single keyword multiple
times in an effort to rank for that keyword.
-
Websites whose content is
not related to the search query.
The bottom line of "junk sites" is that they provide no
"real" content for visitors and this causes the search
engines to hate them with a passion!
You have to consider why the search engines hate this
stuff:
When you or any other search engines user types in a
search query you expect to find "quality" and "relevant"
information to help you solve a problem, find a solution,
buy a product, look for directions, etc.
Junk sites like the ones listed above provide nothing of
value "themselves". They clutter up the search listings and
force users to look for another solution or search engine to
help them meet the demands of their query.
This is disastrous in the eyes of the search engines and
they are taking drastic measures right now to protect their
market share by eliminating junk sites and allowing
"quality" sites to rise to the top.
Is your website getting confused with a junk site?
Believe it or not, even if your site is not junk it could
very easily be confused with junk. Remember the search
engines use "automated" robots to make a decision about the
placement of your site.
There are specific rules that must be followed in order
for the search engines' LSI algorithms to find your site to
be 100% relevant and deemed to contain quality information.
It has much to do with the keyword content of your
articles and the "structure" of your site. I will be
discussing more about this in upcoming lessons.
In The Master Plan I have been teaching my students the
simple yet very scientific principles involved in forcing
the search engines to understand the theme of your site.
In upcoming video evidence I will share how a new,
unknown site can outrank an established website for the same
keyword even if the established site has hundreds or even
thousands of backlinks. This is fascinating stuff and it
will change your mind about how easy it really is to make
money online.
Just in case you don't know what a backlink is...
A backlink is basically another website that links to your
website.
It is the commonly accepted theory that which ever
website has more websites linking to them wins.
Under the old school of thought, a search engine will
place higher importance and relevance on a site that has
many link partners (backlinks).
This is not true anymore because of abuse. Webmasters
started buying links and swapping links and joining link
networks for the sole purpose of "fooling their way to the
top".
Search engines hate this with a passion and are now
placing less importance on backlinks and more importance on
"theme relevance" and site structure.
The tide has turned and it is flowing in a permanent new
direction!
You may be wondering why I say this is permanent... Isn't
that speculation?
No it is not speculation and let me tell you why...
The search engines want quality and relevance and will "always"
make moves toward this. They will not move backwards.
The system that I have been teaching my students adheres
to the laws of the the search engines and follows them
explicitly.
I am teaching you, right now, a method that will survive
future search engine algorithm changes so that the work you
do today will have residual effects tomorrow.
So many webmasters are used to working their tail off to
keep their revenue steady based on the latest swing. I will
not lead you down this path!
I want your time invested today to have exponential and
residual effects tomorrow and what you are learning and will
learn here is the secret to why the top websites on the
Internet never feel the ebb and flow of the search engine
tide.
Until next time,
